Depoe Bay - Fleet of Flowers - May 2012

"Memorial Day in Depoe Bay always means Fleet of Flowers, where the town and citizens beyond remember not only our nation’s fallen military, but also our fallen fishermen at sea. The tradition of Fleet of Flowers was first envisioned because of a tragic day in early October, 1936. Two Depoe Bay fishermen set out on an angry sea to try to rescue another fisherman just off shore who was in grave danger. Fishermen Roy Bower and Jack Chambers along with the distressed fisherman they tried to save drowned that day." -Lincoln City News

This year Mom, Dad and I were at Depoe Bay for the Fleet of Flowers. We had never participated before but our friends, the Slades, were in the Coast Guard and since Mr. Scott worked at the Depoe Bay Coast Guard Station he invited us out on the Coast Gurard Boat and help lay flowers in the ocean to remember all fallen fishermen.

Mrs. Beth and Mr. Scott with Scotty and his 'haarr'. He likes to pretend that it's his hair. He's so funny.

The Coast Guard coming out with their guns.

Mom showed me how to put my hand on my heart to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

So many other boats decorated with flowers to participate in the Fleet of Flowers.

Lots of people gathered on the bridge to watch all of the boats go through the hole.

The Coast Guard helocopter flew overhead and dropped some flowers in the ocean.

Then we all layed the flowers from the boat in to the water.

Disneyland - October 2012

Before Mom started her new job, they surprised me with a trip to Disneyland. I watch Disney Jr. most mornings before school. My favorite shows are Mickey Mouse Club and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. We got up really early in the morning for a suprise trip and on the way to the airport they told me where we were going. How exciting. I couldn't wait to meet Mickey Mouse and see the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I decided to bring along Sock Money for the trip. He was small and I hadn't taken him anywhere before.

Showing Sock Monkey the airplane directions.

When we got to Disneyland the first ride we did was Dumbo. That was the same first ride Mom went on her first trip here a long time ago.

Then the teacups. We spun them round and round.

Then we went to Its a Small World. That was a great ride. By the time the trip was over we had ridden It's a Small World so many times that I learned the words to the song.

Dad went to get our Fastpasses so we could get through the lines quick while Mom and I went on rides. We did almost everything there. I went on the Tower and Terror 3 times. It takes you up 30 stories in an elevator shaft and then drops you down several times. Mom didn't like it but I did. We went on Splash Moutain several times.

Boy did we get wet!

Over at California Adventure my favorite ride of the Grizzly River Rapids, or Floaty Boats, as I called them. We rode it several times in a row with our Fastpasses and got drenched! I loved it.

I got to see the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and meet several of my friends.  Mickey, Minnie, Goofy.

I was so thrilled when we found Donald Duck and he was dressed as a pumpkin!

I got to play a game with Pluto. Awesome!

Then we went over to see Tigger - I checked to make sure he still had his tail.

When saw Eyeore he looked a little sad so I gave him a kiss to cheer him up!

Then I saw Whinnie the Pooh. I gave him a kiss too!

We saw Merida from Brave, my favorite movie right now. I watched it in Florida with Mom. I showed Merida my Sock Monkey. He went everywhere with me even on the rides.

We watched a few parades. Those were really neat. A few of the characters came and gave me a high five. But the Walking Stick from A Bug's Life gave me a hug. Can you believe it! He was sooo tall!

We went on a lot of roller coasters. I liked Goofy's Sky School the best.

After meeting some of my friends we found a gym and there was a dance party going on. I love to dance. We went inside and found a lot of friends dancing. And I could dance with them. I loved it. I danced with Captian Hook, Mr. Smee, the Big Bad Wolf, the Genie from Aladdin and King Louis from the Junglebook.

We also saw the Aladdin show and they had a huge elephant.

There was a pool at our hotel and Dad and I went swimming. Mom brought my goggles from Florida and I showed Dad that I could dive under the water and get my dive toys. I also jumped off the side of the pool to see if I could reach him.
