Meeting My First Fireman - 3/11

Mommy and I were headed to Safeway for our weekly grocery shopping and boy did I get a surprise. When we pulled in to the parking lot there was a FIRETRUCK!! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I always look for them whenever I hear the sirens. I love firetrucks. Mommy says firemen help people. Any time we hear their sirens we pull over to let them through so they can get to the people to help them.

I met Fireman Jeff. He offered to show me some of the neat tools they use to help people.

First we looked a the hose on the front of the truck. I played with it for a while.

Then he took me around the side of the truck and I got to hold an axe. It was sooo heavy. Fireman Jeff told me they use the axe to break down doors to find people in trouble.

Then he showed me a crowbar and said it helps them to open car doors if people get stuck.

He even let me sit in the firetruck!

Then the other firemen came out and Mommy wanted to get a picture with all of them. But I was so busy looking at the shiney panel of fun-ness I didn’t want to look at the camera.
