Daddy's Salmon

Daddy went fishing the last few days. He brought home two fish and saved them for me to see before he cleaned them.  That way I got to see the whole fish.

He said one weighed more than 30+ pounds and he thought it was bigger than me.  Hmmm...we'll see.
I was more interested in looking at the fish than smiling for the camera.

Maybe this one is a little bigger....

I tried to help Daddy hold the fish because he said it was heavy.

These were some nice looking fish! I told them I was going to eat them.

Going for a Bike Ride with Daddy

Daddy and I went for a bike ride this weekend. I took Connor and Barney with me.

I love riding in my chariot.

My first ride on the USCG 47'

Daddy is friends with the XO at Depoe Bay. He offered to take us on the 47 foot boat. His wife is also in the coast guard and is stationed at Newport. She went with us and their three kids.

Heading out!

First we headed toward the bell buoy. There were no sealions on it today.

Then we headed toward the whistle buoy.

I didn't want to drive the boat - it was a little itimidating so Daddy drove for me while I sat in one of the chairs.

Then it was time to head back in.

Visiting the Elk Ranch - 8/11

Grandpa found an elk ranch locally that allowed visitors to tour the facilities and pet the elk. He decided to take all of us cousins to visit the elk. I have never seen an elk up close so this sounded like fun.

We listened to the lady teach us about the elk and then got to try on a set of horns.

I had so much fun hanging out with Tessa.

Then she passed around part of an elk hide so we could feel it.

Then we got to go outside and see the baby elk. They were so friendly and walked right up to us.

We even got to pet the big daddy elk through the fence...until I sneezed and scared them off.

There were little goats we could pick up and pet. I tried to pick them up but they were still pretty heavy. I wanted to take one home. They were so cute.

We had so much fun. I want to go back! Gread idea Grandpa, thanks!

Building my Playground - 7/11

Grandma and Grandpa helped to buy me a playground set complete with swings, a rock wall and a slide. Grandpa disassembled it piece by piece, brought it to my house and then reassembled it for me! It was great.

As soon as the swings were up I couldn’t wait any longer. I had to start swinging.

Then the rock wall; I could hardly wait for them to attach it to the structure and I was already climbing to the top.

I helped with the measuring tape.

Finally…the slide was on and I could slide down! How exciting.

A big hug and kiss thank you to Grandpa for doing all of the work. Now I can swing, climb and slide any time I want since I have my own playground in the backyard.
