My First Ski Lesson - March 17th

Mom and Dad took me up to the mountain for my first ski lesson. At first I was a little worried because I had watched Goofy ski on Mickey Mouse and he always goes so fast and crashes. But Mom told me that I wouldn't got that fast and it would be fun.

I was so excited when I got to the mountain.

We played in the snow first since we haven't seen much snow this year at home.

Throwing snowballs at Dad.

Making a snow angel.

I ended up with a face full of snow!

Then we went to get my skis. We had to wait a little while but I was very patient.

The guys at the rental area said everyone had to carry their own skis so I did my part.

My teacher, Mr. Ryan, was very helpful and nice.
He had us put one ski on and walk around to get used to it.
He helped me kick the snow off my boots and get in my bindings.

Then we practiced a snow plow position. That will make you slow down and stop. He called in pizza because it looks like a slice of pizza. I finally got my skis to do it. Mom was excited and Mr. Ryan gave me a hi-5!
Going down the beginner hill. Mr. Ryan helped me with my pizza. It was a little tricky at first.

Then we went down the hill side by side.
I did fall quite a few times. That was tough.
But Mr. Ryan helped me back up to try again.

After lessons we took a lunch break. I was hungry. Skiing is a lot of hard work.

I reminded Mom she forgot to cut my crusts off. She always forgets. I like it when she forgets because she told me that the crust is what helps make me big and strong and I want to grow big and strong.
I ate the sandwich crust first so that she couldn't take the crust off! Ha!

After our lunch break we decided to on the chair lift.

I loved the chairlift. We were so high in the air and my feet couldn't touch the ground. I couldn't believe it. This was the best part of skiing so far.
Taking a break on the mountain. Dad was a great teacher too. He let me ski in between his legs so we could go faster. And he went downhill backwards like Mr. Ryan did so I could practice my pizza.
