Reading with Tag

Today I had my surgery and I got ear tubes. It only took 15 minutes and I can hear again! This evening I was in such good spirits that I wanted to sit my the chair and read my Tag books all by myself.

First I read my ABC book. It plays music for every letter of the alphabet. I like E for Elepant's Electric Guitar the best I think.
Then I read my Lightning McQueen book. But I really like the sounds the cactus' make when you put the Tag reader on them. They go "BOING!" That makes me laugh so hard.

The Newport Aquarium

Saturday afternoon Mama and Daddy took me to the Newport Aquarium. They bought a season pass so I can go all the time. And there is sooo much to see. We only stayed a couple of hours and I had such a great time.

First we went to the Passages of the Deep. I got so close with all the fish. They were right next to me behind the glass. I saw, halibut, rockfish, lingcod, all kinds of sharks and a juvenile wolf eel. Getting up close and personal with a Copper Rockfish.

Looking at a China Rockfish.

Then we checked out the birds in the aviary and watch the tidal exchange at one of the outdoor pools. I ate a few goldfish, fitting since we were at an aquarium.

Then we were off to the swamplands. I got to pet a tortise and a lizard, watch people play with parrots that said words I hadn't even learned yet!

We walked by the Lion's Mane jellyfish tank and I liked watching them all swim around.

After that we went to a tidal pool and I got to touch the anenome and starfish. I saw Japanese Spider craps who's legs can get up to 13 feet across, (I wonder how many of me's it would take to make 13 feet?)

I can't wait to go back!

The Sea Lions of Depoe Bay

Saturday Daddy took us out in the new boat. I got my life jacket on and couldn't wait to get in the boat. On our way out we saw a baby seal lying on the rocks with her Mama. They were sunning themselves.

When we crossed the bar the ocean was really bumpy. The new boat was great though. Mama held on to me really tight and off we went. I saw boats and birds all around me. I started to really enjoy it.

On our way back Daddy drove us by the Bell Buoy and we saw a bunch of Sea Lions sitting on it. Some of them jumped off as we got close, guess we scared them a little. But I got to see them swim in the ocean. How neat!
