The Back Story

Since this is my first post I thought I would catch you all up on my previous milstones.

Jan. 12. 2009.
First I was born - a feat in itself. I wasn't really ready to come out so I stayed until the last possible second holding on for all I was worth. Then the docs cut in to Mama and then whoosh...blinding light and I was out. I had no idea what to expect but I never thought it would have been this easy.
8 pounds 6 ounces
21.5 inches long
14 inch head

Then there was my first bath.

Boy, Mamma and Daddy sure made a big deal out of this. I must have been in that water for 45 minutes while they took a ga-zillion pictures all while moving my legs and arms around and yelling my name over and over. Do they really think I am going to lay still all while stuck in a tub with water in a sink of all places. They have got a lot to learn! But I obligingly looked in to the flashy thing a few times. Your welcome!!

Since I didn't have my blog yet Mamma had to send out pictures of me to everyone she has ever known. It must have been the whole world as far as I could tell. I knew something was up when I woke up ready to have my morning meal and she changed me in to some cutesy clothes instead. Then stacked up some pillows and layed out my quilt that Auntie Amy made for me, (a shout out to Auntie Amy - thanks so much I love it!!). Finally when I had just about given up hope...milk. That always makes me so happy. I love to eat. I always take my time, gotta grow big and strong. After I was done she pulled out that flashy thing again and starting clicking. But I was just so happy I had eaten and figured I could throw a few smiles her way. She was making these wierd noises and they were quite funny. I started giggling and couldn't stop myself, what a card!!

My first plane ride. San Fransicso here I come. I thought it would be more exciting but after hitting the airport and waiting in a long line here and a long line there I fell asleep. All of a sudden bam, wheels touched down and we were there. I missed the whole plane ride. I had slept though everything. But Dad was there to greet us and we had a great time.

Mamma and Daddy took me all over, the ferry, to Fisherman's Wharf, their favorite Indian Restaurant in the whole world: Punjabi Burrito. I didn't personally order anything but it sure smelled really good in there. Then we went hiking by the Golden Gate Bridge and on Mt. Tamalpais. It was a very busy 4 days but we had so much fun as a family. I can't wait to go back.

April 7. 2009
First Day at Daycare. I get to go to Cousin Sara's house every day. It sounded like it would be fun. Nia is there to play with and she has some really cool toys. But for some reason Mamma has been crying all morning long. She keeps trying to smile through her tears to tell me how much fun I will have....then why is she crying.

Sara is a lot of fun. She plays with me all day long and we go outside in the sun when it is warm. I like it there.

April 12. 2009.
Easter. Mamma and Daddy went scuba diving - that looked like fun. I can't wait until I can go under the water and check out the fish. We even got to hang out in the hotel for a while before heading to Uncle Cory's for Easter dinner.

I hadn't seen my cousins in a while and I forgot how many there were. They are HUGE!! It was so fun to get to play with them and of course, there was Mamma with her flashy thing again! She's like a machine with that thing.

My Baptism. Now, normally I am a great kid, but I was so tired and just wanted to go to sleep. I kept talking and telling Daddy it was time for bed but he just smiled and gave me another toy to play with and everyone looked and me and smiled. I guess you are not suppose to talk while the priest is talking, how was I to know?

I did get to go up to the alter and get water poured over my head, always fun! Aunt Mandi was home and she stood with us as my Godmother. And our friend James Holman stood as my Godfather. We had a big party afterward and I got my picture taken with everyone. I was given a few childrens bibles and some neat books. I can't wait to read them.

April 30.2009. Rolling Over. Today I finally figured out how to roll over from my back to my front. I had really been working at it all week. But today...a victory. Now I don't ever have to be on my back if I don't want to.

May 16. 2009.
My First Boat Ride. I got to cross the bar and go in to the ocean too! It was pretty scary but I was mesmorized by the water, it just kept moving. It never stops. Daddy saw some friends and then all of a sudden I was up in the air like Simba the lion cub getting shown to the pride. We took a few pictures and went home again. I can't wait to do that again.

May 24. 2009.
My First Embarrassing Picture. The first of many to come I am afraid. I have heard to protect yourself from the sun but this it going a little too far! I heard Daddy telling his friends that it looked like Rainbow Brite threw up on me.

May 31. 2009.
I put my foot in my mouth...literally! I had tried for a few weeks every time I laid on my back but I just could reach my foot. Dad helped me out until I got the hang of it. And I have to be honest...my foot tastes pretty good.

My first Boo Boo lip. I was really tired and just wanted to go to bed. But Mama was still running around getting things ready in my roon so Daddy kept playing with me and trying to make me smile. He is funny and I did laugh a few times but I just wanted to go to sleep. Finally I could take it any more and so I had to pull out the big guns....the boo boo lip. I figured if that didn't tell them I meant business then I don't know what would. But they thought it was cute and took my picture instead. C'mon.....

June 6. 2009.
My First Food. Homemade Sweet Potatoes. At first I was none too thrilled. They tasted funny. But she kept shoving that spoon in my mouth. After a while they got a little better so I ate until they were gone. Not too bad in the end. Daddy kept making funny faces at me until I laughed.

June 21. 2009.
Fathers Day. I decorated a paper tie with a poem and my picture with Cousin Sara for Dad for father's day. He loved it.

June 24. 2009
Sitting Up. I was laying on my tummy outside on the deck but was having a hard time holding on to my ball. I sat up and it was so much easier hold on to it. Once I figured it out I decided I don't want to be on my belly any more. Now I sit up all the time.

June 26. 2009
First Camping Trip. We went to Timothy Lake with Uncle Ken, Aunt Leah, cousins Andrew and Henry. I had so much fun. We went for a hike, played in the sand by the water.....
and Mamma even brought my swimming pool so I could get wet. Henry and I had a blast splashing around.

Andrew got to net his first fish...

I even figured out how to hold myself in the standing position. I saw Henry was holding on to the side of his playyard so I tried it and loved it. I couldn't stop laughing, it was so much fun. I love to stand. Then Daddy came over and laughed with me.

I even go to try eating a sweet pepper. It tasted pretty good. I saw Daddy eating one so I thought I would give it a try. Not bad!

July 16. 2009.
Playing on the Beach. I went to the beach today to play in the sand. Way fun! It tastes a little gritty. I even rubbed my face in it a little. Cousins Holly and Emily were there to play with and Nana. We had a great time. I crawled all over the place and found rocks to eat. There were lots of dogs that ran by and that made me laugh. I got sand everywhere, my ears, my eyes and even in between my toes. How fun!
